Trek from Nevado de Toluca to Valle de Bravo

Trek from Nevado de Toluca to Valle de Bravo

Trek from the bottom of the Nevado de Toluca (Xinantécatl) to the magical town of Valle de Bravo immersing yourself in the depths of Mexico.

You will descend through the basin of the Cutzamala water system, which carries 35% of the total water supply of Mexico City, into a lush forest that houses some of the tallest trees in the country. We will walk through rivers and crystal clear springs, along imposing rocks, through high valleys to farms where local people will greet us with heirloom tortillas and their characteristic warmth that makes this experience a jewel mixing adventure and human connection.

The meeting is in the magical town of Valle de Bravo, one of the most stunning destinations in Mexico. The first day will serve to organize and contextualize the route, understand the trek, the itinerary and what it is advisable to bring on the trip. You will have time to see the mountains and lake, walk along the alleys of the charismatic downtown, and go for dinner.

During the next days we will venture out to reconnect with ourselves and nature through various activities of adventure and wonder. Our expedition route begins at the site known as The Stone Map, right at the base of Nevado de Toluca. We will descend to Corral de Piedra and the high valleys of the basin from where we will walk to the Valley of Conejeras and camp for the night. On Sunday we will leave the cold mountain air for warmer forests of oak and ash to Los Alamos where we will enter Valle de Bravo again.
